FreeBSD SCSI Device Trouble

By network_ops ·
Hey all,

Running FreeBSD 4.0. Installed a SCSI tape device which is being assigned ID sa0 during boot. It is recognized as a device off of ahc0, which is my Adaptec SCSI card.

However, when I go to /dev to find the device, neither ahc0 norsa0 are listed. Any thoughts?

Thanks,

Keith

Make sure the devices are configured in your kernel, and then go into /DEV and do a MAKEDEV ahc0, and MAKEDEV sa0.

Greetings,

It sounds as though you have a configuration file issue. Refer to this article from the FreeBSD Handbook. It discusses (among many other things) those configuration issues.
