From ME to XP to Win2000

By premjis ·
On my Dell Laptop with WinME, I installed XP and now went to install Win2000 on the 2nd partition, it did not let me. What wrong did I do and what should I do to correct the error.

Please advise a.s.a.p.

Sam

Providing the error message would have been a help to determine what went wrong,so that a solution could be given,my guess is that you donot have enough spacce on the drive to load W2K and XP.

According to Microsoft the OSs need to be installed in a certain order.
If you want to start multiple operating systems, install each operating system in a different partition in the following order:

Microsoft Windows 95, Microsoft Windows 98, or Microsoft Windows Millennium Edition (Me)

Microsoft Windows NT 4.0

Microsoft Windows 2000

Microsoft Windows XP

If you do not want to start the computer in all the operating systems that are listed, skip the ones that you donot need. NOTE : Do not convert the hard disk from Basic Disk to Dynamic Disk until you install all of the operating systems that you intend to use. Once you convert the hard disk from Basic Disk to Dynamic Disk, you may be unable to install any other operating systems on that hard disk.
Win2K needs to be installed first, Then XP
