What version of VB are you using ? It usually comes with at least a cut-down version of the MSDN library, or you can access the full library on the MS website (try http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp)
The SDK section should have a lot ofthe things you are looking for.
If the API items you are working with have a type library available, or if you can load it in the VB References dialog, you can usually find all the public objects, properties, constants etc in VB’s Object Browser.
      Hope this helps.

The VB API viewer is good if you know the name of the API and want to cut and paste it into your code, but it is not so good as a user guide.

in my opinion the best place to go for all things related to API probramin in VB is Paul Kuliniewicz’s excellent web site at http://www.vbapi.com

You will certainly find the constant declarations for all the most common and not so common APIs there.

      Hope this helps.

The MSDN documention has a lot of information about the API. It is, however, a bit difficult to find.

The first step is to load the API viewer and then load the API file(s) and see what is available. You can then look up these functions on the MSDN CD that ships with Visual Basic. If you do not have this, a copy is available under libraries at http://msnd.microsoft.com.

There are also sites on the web that talk about the win API (like http://www.vbapi.com/). A quick web search should yield quite a few. Also, sites like http://www.vbcode.com have source code examples for a variety of api calls.
