Front End Product for SQL

I’ve using Access 2000 as a front end for developing forms, reports, queries, etc. for user interface on a MSSQL2000 database. Access has it limitations and is not as efficient at handling the amount of data now residing in the MSSQL2000 database. Need a new front end product that can produce a user interface setup, for doing updates, additions, lookups, etc., without having to get a user license for each user (like access does) and it needs be extremely efficient/ quick/ accurate with MSSQL2000 and give me options to be able to create new forms/reports on the fly as well. ANY SUGGESTIONS.
