GAL display

By Eminent87 ·

I'm using Exchange 2000 with Outlook 2000, I want to know how to change the way GAL display the names. For example, when you start a new email and you type a couple letters of the person's first name Outlook will automatically recognize the name from the GAL and auto complete the email address. This works for all of our internal clients except for one and I was wondering if there's a way to change this. If I type the person's full name then the system will recognize it but it won't recognize if it's the first or last name only. Please help!

The only thing I can think of is that the user has changed the order in which Outlook will check the names when resolving.

From the address book, go to Tools/Options and make sure that the GAL is listed in the "check names" box and is listed first.

I've been trying to research and find an answer to this one also.

Please let me know if you've found an answer to this one.

My real problem is when Outlook opens the global address list and you see cut-off names, no email addresses and stupid fields.

Sorry for the delay, the problem was that we hired a new employee with the same first name as the other user so it conflict with each other. We work around this by just typing in the last name instead. Thanks for all your comments.
