What type of computer should I go for if i’m just going to use it for Dayz. Should I get a desktop, prebuilt, or laptop?

You need to spend at least $5K on a computer.

In all seriousness, you need to specify what your computing needs are, what you budget is, where in the world you live in, more details how you want to use the computer, Windows or iOS.

https://store.steampowered.com/app/221100/DayZ/ tells (after a few times page down) the recommended system requirements for Dayz. It’s up to you to decide if you want them in a desktop or a laptop. That might depend on the price also.
