Geek Trivia wish list

By Jay Garmon Contributor ·
The quest for newer and better Geek Trivia is never-ending, so I'm looking for suggestions on how to improve the Geek Trivia e-newsletter column. Post your suggestions in this discussion, and let's see if we can really blow the doors off of TechRepublic's best kept secret.

(And while we're at it, tell your friends about Geek Trivia. The more subscribers our little e-mail has, the more likely I can get the higher-ups to back improved Geek Trivia features!)

Stand up for the Geek

Jay,

You have been Soooooooooo helpful to us Discussion and Q&A users over the years, that I will do whatever I can to help. I never have subscribed to the Geek Trivia Newsletter, but I just now signed up. Unfortunately, since I've not read one of your newsletters, I can't give any suggestions for improvement. But I'll sure read the ones I receive in the future, and If I have any comments, I'll sure pass them on.

Geek Trivia copyright

Jay

A friend of mine has an interest in words / phrases and their origins etc and writes a column in an international journal.

She was most interested in the sundae article and would like to quote you. Could you please let me know how she can contact you regarding copyright.

How to quote me

by Jay Garmon Contributor In reply to Geek Trivia copyright

I can be reached at enews4@cnet.com, but as a matter of principle and fair use law, I can be quoted if correct bibliographic attribution is included with the quotation. The details of attribution vary between professional journals, but so long as hers is a qualified and recognized journal, the standard attribution should suffice. When in doubt, use Associated Press style guides; it's what we use at TechRepublic.
