Geo-cluster and Double-Take

By sysupgrd ·
My company is looking at both, DR Hot-site creation and centralizing email. We're currently on Exch2k3 and Outlook XP. A method I'm thinking of using to validate, whether or not, email centralization is possible, is to setup a Geo-cluster using NSI Geo-clustering solution. Is anyone familiar with this product? Has anyone centralized their email infrastructure?

Clustering or not???

by newssubscripton In reply to Geo-cluster and Double-Ta ...

Hi,
first you have to look at your infrustructure.
How many Exchange Servers did you have?
Which bandwich did you have to your locations?
Are you familar with clustering?
Did you reach a 99,5 % availibility without clustering? If not than clustering is not a solution for you.
How many Servers did you want to cluster
Did you plan to upgrade to Office / Outlook 2003
You see there are a lot of questions for a decision for clustering. Another solution is to archive your messages. Feel free to contact me for your questions.

Exchange Cluster Session Affiliation

by marwick In reply to Clustering or not???

Is it possible to have session/mailbox affiliation in an Exchange cluster environment?

The reason I ask is because we are considering implemeting an exchange geocluster across a relatively weak link (6Mbps) and would prefer that the users use 'local' portion of exchange cluster rather than using replication link for accessing remote exchange servers.

Does anyone knows how this works and/or what are the possibilities?

Any other suggestions welcome :-)

Thanks

John
