Get Pictures Instead of Red X

By wbecker ·
With my Win 98 and Pentium II at 350 hz and using IE 6, I am getting a red X instead of pictures on most, but not all web sites. Is there a setting I need to adjust or other solution?

A red X or broken picture means that the file format used to create that picture is not recognized by the web browser. If it has happened on only a select few Web sites, then I would surmise that it's a problem with the Web page using an uncommon file type for the picture. If it happens often, then I would suspect that a setting in your browser is configured incorrectly. If that is the case, reinstalling the browser may be the best option.
