Getting in the servers/keeping him out

By pdmcisco2003 ·
Where I am starting work next week, they have two servers. They got rid of the Admin guy. They have the password to one, but need to change it so he can't get in remotely, and they don't have the password to the other. How do I get in these servers without dumping everything to change the passwords?

depends upon which one you have the password to. you can use a utility like Offline NT Password & Reg Editor

I've used passware.
Pricey @ $195.00 USD but it worked and I only lost encrypted stuff.

If you have the password for the primary DC in a W2K AD network, you can set the domain admin account name from the Domain Security Settings on the primary DC. That will propogate the domain Admin account name to all computers on the net which in turn will allow you to log on using the domain admin account[but not log on locally]. To locally log on, you have to crack the admin account if you can't remember the local admin account name and password.
