getting my foot in the door...

By ghstnthmchn ·
I've gone back to college after 13 years, because my original training as an artist, just didn't pan out. I've been studying IT for a year. I'm hoping to eventually get into securities, but need to know a good place to start. (In terms of both position to seek and where to hunt)

That all depends

It all depends on what you want to do in IT. IT is a diverse field that has many Facets. You can go into any number of sub fields depending on what it is you want to do. If you want to be in security (like protection) then I would suggest you tailor your schooling to something like the IS portion of IT. If you want to be in securities (stock and bonds, mutual funds ect) then I would suggest you look into a MBA with a minor in computer science. It all really just depends on what you want toaccomplish, just like any other profession. Since you have a strong background in art, I would suggest Web Design you could if you are good enough get into CG. ILM is always looking for exceptional talent. WHo knows you could work on the next starwars or terminator films. that is my $.02 worth.

Thanks for the advice. Sorry that I wasn't clearer-I was refering to IS, not stocks.
