    Gmail [second question]

    by theskillspool+techrepublic@gmail.com ·

Why was I able to find in Spam an incoming message not in All Mail. If All Mail excludes some mail, what else does it exclude?

What variety of gmail did you use? For example: gmail.com in Chrome on a Windows laptop, the gmail-app on your iPhone, gmail via imap in Thunderbird?
      Might make a difference.

      In https://www.lifewire.com/how-to-recover-missing-emails-gmail-4585081 I read:
“Search the Spam, Trash, and All Mail folders for emails. Also, search the Social, Promotions, and Updates tabs.”

That makes me think that Spam and Trash aren’t included in All Mail. You can check that yourself easily. It would be nice if you checked it and post the result of your experiments here. Then at least readers of this forum will know the answer.
