    Gnome window manager

    I installed redhat linux 6.0 for server version.But i am not getting the Gnome window manager as i am getting when i installed linux workstation.In server mode it goes into Anotherlevel windows manager. I wants the login prompt where i select the different windows manager as i select in workstation.
    So please give me proper solution because i am new user of linux.

      First you have to have the gnome package installed, after you have installed everything, edit (or create if it doesn’t exist) the file /etc/sysconfig/desktop
      and should only say GNOME
      after that at the prompt enter “linuxconf”
      and at the miscelaneus services, select initial system services and mark the run level 5.
      Then reboot and it should work now

        i forgot to tell you to run Xconfigurator after you install Gnome, so it will configure your X-Window server

      You can select which desktop to run from gdm (the graphical login screen).

      Note that it will only allow you to use desktops that are installed (of course). This is only a temporary fix though since it will revert back to the default desktop(AnotherLevel in your case)
