Going back to Windows 10?

Hello,

I made the (imo) mistake of upgrading from Windows 10 to Windows 11. In my infinite wisdom, I did this right before heading out of town, and as such did not realize that it was a mistake until after the 10-day recovery window was completed.

Normally I would live with my mistake, but now I am running into hardware issues that the manufacturer is telling me is related to Windows 11.

As such, my question is – Is there any way to, without wiping my computer and starting over from scratch, go back to Windows 10?

I suspect that you will have to start from scratch to re-install Windows 10 now. Sorry to hear about your issues.

You could try asking Microsoft directly if there are any methods to roll back, but I have my doubts.

It’s a clean install. That is, you backup your files, make sure you have your product keys for apps and passwords for sites then you wipe the drive and install your choice of Windows 10. Follow up with all the drivers, apps then copy in your files.

It would have been easiest if you had made your own image backup (using Acronis True Image or a comparable program). Then you could have restored that.
Just a tip for when Windows 12 arrives.

And what you don’t like in Windows 11? The system keeps asking me to upgrade to version 10, but I’m not taking any chances yet)
