Good Uninstalling

By BorgInva ·
I use 98 SE, XP Pro, and 2k Pro machines between home and work. I have been using Norton Cleansweep to monitor installations and programs for years, but lately this program has been giving me nothing but headaches. It crashes on my XP system, and inmy 2k, it uninstall things from my system (Office, other programs, even its own files), and all I was uninstalling was a program that had checkboxes that only referred to the program itself. I am using the 2k3 version of the program.
Are there any other monitoring/uninstallers out there that does the same job as Norton Cleansweep, or even better?

I completely agree, actually I am surprised to find you haven't had problems with norton Clean Sweep before. I find all Norton products to be really invasive and resource hogs.
Therefore, I've banned and blocked installing Norton (or Mcaffee) ANYTHING on our network.

I use Iolo's System Mechanic. It will monitor and track all changes during install and revert back if needed. It also has some great tweaking tools and system cleanup tools.

They also make some other great sys utilities if you check their home page. Clean sweep etc.
