I have a Toshiba Satellite m45 s3553 and it keeps crashing in normal mode. Safe mode, Safe mode with networking and safe mode with command prompt all still work perfectly fine (with the slight exception that it takes about 5 minutes for mup.sys to load) ive checked my installation of XP home SP2 and its ok (even if i boot from cd to ubuntu live it crashes), and ive tried 2 different hard drives and i still get the crash, the only thing ive noticed is that occasionally if i troubleshoot and turn the graphics accelerator all the way down it lasts a little longer before it crashes. Ive tried using my system restore disk to no avail also. my system is as follows (or atleast as much as i know how to tell you, any instructoins on getting a more detailed list would be appreciated):
Microsoft Windows XP Home edition version 2002 SP2
Intel(R) Pentium(r) M processer 1.73ghz 798MHz, .99gb ram
the graphics chipset in mention is the Mobile Intel(R) 915GM/GMS, 910GML Express Chip Set Family.
i hope this is enough information, is it possible for a faulty graphics chipset to cause this type of reaction on a computer?? and if so, is there a way to make Normal mode act like Safe Mode with Networking….WITH SOUND?
any help would be greatly appreciated… i dont have the money to buy a new computer right now, so im trying to prolong the life of this one until i have the money…
