Pictures look great.

I hope you where there for the dilevery as it is one of the most impressive things that you can ever experience and I'm saying that from personal experience even though it was now 26 years ago since my daughter {youngest} was born.

I hope you are getting some sleep now but things will eventually improve that is until she reaches her teenage years then you'll get less sleep than you are now.

By the way I have an application form "To Date My Daughter" here if you like I'll send it along for the future it is closer than you think.

Shoot one this way

by Jellimonsta In reply to Congrats Mike

Shoot one of those application forms over this way Colin :) My daughter is only 1 yr old on the 23rd but if she grows up to look like her Mom I am going to need that form.
Although I once heard some words of wisdom "kill the first one, the rest will stay away!"

Cat's in the Cradle

by maxwell edison In reply to GuruOfDOS II...the pictur ...

Congratulations Michael!

Food for thought - for all parents - brought to you by the great song writer, Harry Chapin:

Cat's in the Cradle by Harry Chapin

My child arrived just the other day,
He came to the world in the usual way.
But there were planes to catch, and bills to pay.
He learned to walk while I was away.
And he was talking 'fore I knew it, and as he grew,
He'd say, "I'm gonna be like you, dad.
You know I'm gonna be like you."

And the cat's in the cradle and the silver spoon,
Little boy blue and the man in the moon.
"When you coming home, dad?" "I don't know when,
But we'll get together then.
You know we'll have a good time then."

My son turned ten just the other day.
He said, "Thanks for the ball, dad, come on let's play.
Can you teach me to throw?" I said, "Not today,
I got a lot to do." He said, "That's ok."
And he walked away, but his smile never dimmmed,
Said, "I'm gonna be like him, yeah.
You know I'm gonna be like him."

And the cat's in the cradle and the silver spoon,
Little boy blue and the man in the moon.
"When you coming home, dad?" "I don't know when,
But we'll get together then.
You know we'll have a good time then."

Well, he came from college just the other day,
So much like a man I just had to say,
"Son, I'm proud of you. Can you sit for a while?"
He shook his head, and he said with a smile,
"What I'd really like, dad, is to borrow the car keys.
See you later. Can I have them please?"

And the cat's in the cradle and the silver spoon,
Little boy blue and the man in the moon.
"When you coming home, son?" "I don't know when,
But we'll get together then, dad.
You know we'll have a good time then."

I've long since retired and my son's moved away.
I called him up just the other day.
I said, "I'd like to see you if you don't mind."
He said, "I'd love to, dad, if I could find the time.
You see, my new job's a hassle, and the kid's got the flu,
But it's sure nice talking to you, dad.
It's been sure nice talking to you."
And as I hung up the phone, it occurred to me,
He'd grown up just like me.
My boy was just like me.

And the cat's in the cradle and the silver spoon,
Little boy blue and the man in the moon.
"When you coming home, son?" "I don't know when,
But we'll get together then, dad.
You know we'll have a good time then."

I liked Cat's

by Oz_Media In reply to Thanks Max

I liked the version by Cat Stevens. It's a little more upbeat than the Harry Chapin original but not as rocky as UKJ's.
Out of the three, I think Cat's has a nice veggie-on-Sunday-morning appeal.

Cat didn't do Cat's

by maxwell edison In reply to I liked Cat's

Cat Stevens (a.k.a. Yusuf Islam) has never recorded Cat's In The Cradle. That's a very common misconception. From what I've read, there's been a lot of claims that a Cat Stevens recording of that song exists, and there have even been some MP3s on the Internet that credit Stevens, but it's really Harry Chapin.

I've never heard Ugly Kid Joe's version, but would be interested in hearing it. (In fact, I've never even heard of Ugly Kid Joe.)
