You can backup a hard disk using Nero's BackItUp but its not the same as an Image. For Images you need either Norton Ghost or Drive Image software.

I could be wrong but Nero doesn't create and burn hard drive images. It works with CD images and ISO images which is different.
As said before using Norton Ghost or Powerquest DriveImage is a much better option. If you choose, you can burn the image file that it creates using NERO - provided the image can fit on a CD that is, if not use something like Nero Vision Express to burn DVD-roms.

PQ driveimage works great to creat an image.
I do it different ways.
1. Have a second partition on your hard drive then
burn the image to it
Then use Nero to burn the CD/s.
2. Have a spare hard drive to write the image to.
It is the fastest way.
And use it for images only.

I have a new WD 120 GB hard drive a Nero stated I needed 177 Cds to make a backup. sorry no way.
Nero backup burn one sector at time from your hard drive.

good luck

I'll go along with the other answers;

Norton Ghost and Drive Image are the 2 commercial products that spring to mind. I've used both recommend that you invest in a copy of either if you need to image on a regular basis. I also use free utility called Partition Saving. It's not as intuitive or as pretty as the others but it's just as quick to restore. http://www.partition-saving.com/

If you're going to burn transfer yur image to a CD I'd recommend creating the image on your HDD first butmake sure you split the image so it fits on your CD(s)
