    harddrives for dell laptops

    i have a dell inspiron 6000 laptop the harddrive is bad,it was a samsung ide. i want to replace it with something else. my question is will a Seagate Momentus 5400.3 fit? if not-which ones will?

      But you should look up the Power Requirements for the Seagate Drive and it’s actual dimensions to make sure that it’s the same physical size. The main thing that you’ll need to look for is the height of the drive as sometimes these can differ and cause problems in not allowing the thicker ones to fit.

      The other thing that you need to keep in mind is that the BIOS has an upper limit in the size of the HDD that it will recognise so you’ll need to purchase a drive that will work within the limits of your current BIOS so it will have to either be the same size as the upper Limit or smaller depending on what that size is.
