Over the weekend, I set ThingTwo (my boy) up with his first linux desktop (Mint, Felicia).
It does the browsing (FF) and IM (pidgin), which is about all he needs out of a PC.
What would make this sweet to help with his video editing class (high school, they use Adobe) is if I could find him a comparable video editor for linux.
I will be surfing some of the linux sites to see what is available, but was looking for some personal feedback on which ones you liked or didn’t like.
[i]Side note, he WAS on a P4 2.4 with a gig of ram, is now on P4 1.5 with 512 ram. I didn’t tell him what the specs were for the system, we just loaded it and let him play. A few hours later I got a “Wow dad, this is a LOT faster”. B-)
