hdd password

Hi, I have Toshiba sattelite laptop with which needs a hdd password during startup. Could you pls tell either on which software should I use to remove this password or what should I do? I have tried low level formatting it but still same massege appear.

The password is on the BIOS to keep you from changing things in the system.

Hello...

You will need to contact Toshiba to reset this password. It is designed to prevent laptop theft. Unfortunately, it also blocks you when you forget your own password. Toshiba will want to see proof of ownership before they help you.

Sorry to be blunt but hard drive passwords require an expensive hardware solution to remove them. ($1800 to $2500)

The hard drive manufacturers will not remove them.
