Help~ Cannot Login to Yahoo Mail~ Help~~

By gigi5258 ·
I just re-install my desktop and then suddently I found that i can not login to yahoo and only. I'm not sure if it's setting related problem or not, but even after I re-installed it again, it still doesn't work.

I don't use outlook at all, all I'm using is browser and then login in I've tried IE & Firefox both and none of them work....I suspect that might be firewall settings...but other sites are just fine....

I asked my roommate if he can login to yahoo (so it's not regional problem now) and he said he has no problem at all.

Now I'm run out of all suspecious options...I've installed windows before (my major in college is CS) and this shouldnt be my installation problem; it's not router setting nor firewall settings since everything is default and they used to work just fine under default settings; not virus problem since even I just freshly installed and run the anti-virus nothing was affected; and it only happened to

Now I cannot even go on to coz the page can't be opened...I tired other countries' yahoo sites then I can view but can't login mail, I can view and login via (but it's damn slow and it only works once then after I logout, I can't login again).....

Same thing happens. I place my ID in and put in my password but it doesn't compute, just reverts back to blank boxes.

Same issue

I have tried it after multiple trojans which roommate did not know what he was doing and installed various "things". I have tried from ANOTHER computer and I can get logged into my Yahoo account just fine. But from my personal computer, NOPE. Tried another Internet access application and it still will not work from that computer. Keeps coming up with the same blank page. My techs here are baffled.

First, repost as a 'Question'.

by CharlieSpencer In reply to Same issue

Second, don't let your room mate install things.

Third, you're going to have to remove the malware. Have your techs start with that.

Try reposting this using the 'Ask a Question' button. The 'Discussion' forum is for matters of general discussion, not specific problems in search of a solution.

There are TR members who specifically seek out problems in need of a solution. Although there is some overlap between the two forums, you'll find more of those members in 'Questions' than here in 'Discussions'.

Additional benefits to the membership include:

1) The "Questions" forum provides for your feedback, by way of your being able to mark "helpful" responses as such. This does not necessarily mean that a given response contained the complete solution to your problem, but only that it served to guide you toward it. This is intended to serve as an aid to those who may in the future have a problem similar to yours, so that they might have a ready source of reference available, thereby perhaps obviating the need for them to repeat questions previously asked and answered.

2) The TR search function makes it difficult to find a particular "Discussion" or "Question" if it has not had a recent post; the two types get mingled in the listings. By keeping each type in their respective forums, it is easier for all to find what they are looking for.

Do you go through AT&T?

Have you tried setting the MTU to a different spped? The normal MTU (Maximum Transmit Unit) value for most Ethernet networks is 1500 Bytes, 1492 Bytes for PPPoE connections, or 1436 for PPTP connections
