hi,
we’re running small bus. server 4.5, i have several users who travel alot, and they need to access pop3 email, share a calendar, and even (if fairly easy) contacts.
the questions: how to set them up so they can fairly easily do this while traveling–and when they return to office, it’s easy to re-establish office LAN connections?
re email and possibly even calendar, they want to be able to download their messages onto their hard drive and then break the connection to save connect charges.
we have a dsl connection with a sonic-wall firewall box. i’ve heard VPN is
more complex than OWA. also, some of them have NT4.0 on their laptops, and
earthlnk doesn’t work so easily with that (have to disconnect proxy client).
to simplify things a bit, i’m considering doing the calendaring via a web-based calendaring site (e.g. anyday.com), and letting that synch with their laptops.
can anyone point me in some good directions here? i’m sure many must be facing the samechallenges.
thanks!
fred
