Check IIS

Ensure that you are connecting via httpS not http. OMA and OWA are normally SSL secured. Also check IIS to confirm your settings are correct.

SSL

Is SSL compulsory for OMA? Didn't want to purchase a certificate but if I have no choice then I will.

You can easily create a self-signed certificate and enable it for your exchange server. Check out http://www.petri.co.il/configure_ssl_on_oma.htm for a decent outline of the process. The main downside to doing this is that you have to find a way to manage the certificate on your mobile devices and computers. It's not a big ordeal, but you should be aware of the need to do so.

Please let me know if that helps or you have questions.

Sometimes not a big ordeal.

Excellent post Christian. =] Good stuff. Just a related comment though; sometimes I find installing a self signed cert a pain. That being said, third party certs can also be frustrating as well, but I find them easier (in most cases). Recently I started using RapidSSL (instead of GoDaddy) and have had great compatibility, especially with older Palm devices.
