Help with Space Leak error in Oracle

I recently received this question in an e-mail to Builder.com. I thought this would be a good question for the membership to answer:

“I have an Oracle 7.1 installed on a SCO Unix Box

I find that if the server is not used for sufficient period of time, then I
get a Space Leak error. I am unable to reporduce this error, yet this
happens say 3-4 times a year. No data is ever lost and no transaction are
ever affected.

But once this happens, I need to do a shutdown abort.
