helpdesk technician supporting windows to linux?

Hi Guys,

need some insights, i am currently a helpdesk technician that cater most of the time a windows environment. i have been doing it for almost 2 years now. i got an oppurtunity to support linux as well.
should i grab it?
my thoughts are it will straighten my path as a network admin.

suggestions and comments are welcome.

The more you know the more valueble you are, any oppurtunity to learn new things is good, so i say yes, grab it!

Mixed environments are likely to be the way for the future. Many work places will be increasingly Windows Desktops & Linux Servers.
A broader view of the computing world is always a good thing.
Plus having a good understanding of Linux options for the desktop gives you more of a chance to contrast & compare problems.
