Can I hide a msaccess 2000 database, so that users can not see it in the network directory but can use it through an icon on their desktop?

i would think you could change the attribute to 'hidden'
if that does not work, how about hiding the folder it is in, by creating a share with a dollar sign as the last character?
that 'hides' the share in the network neighborhood but you can still get at it with a url (like, in a network place shortcut)

to change the file atrribute to 'hidden':
Start/Run/Command <enter>
attrib +h filename <enter>
if folks have 'show hidden files' turned on in folder options, they will still be able to see the file. so you might want to use the 'hidden' share method (share$)
