Greetings.
I’ve been encountering a seemlingly random problem. The task explorer.exe starts consuming all CPU time, effectively locking up the Windows UI for the user. This is happening on Windows 2000 Professional and NT 4 machines in an NT4 domain.
The only thing that seems to be common is that the problems all started shortly after I rolled out SMS Server Service Pack 3. Other than that, the problem does not seem to be related to SMS in any way.
Has anyone seen this before? I’ve tried searching the MS knowledge base, but no luck.
