in one of my clients we have loaded ms proxy ,i want all the terminals to send and receive e-mail from their account configured ( mail server name,user name and passwords ) ms outlook97 !!but when i try to send and e-mail with outlook ,i allways getthe same message ” mail.xxx.com ” couldnot be resolved though i can use all the accounts at a local dial up connection !!

desperately seeking a hero to resolve the problem …thanx !!!

Try going into options then connection. Then the configure connection tab. Go into LAN settings and set the proxy up for Lan settings. Hope that helps.

To make this work, you need Proxy Client installed on each client machine.

First, on the machine running Proxy Server, make sure the MSPCLNT folder is shared.
From each user’s PC, access the Setup program inside the proxy server’s shared MSPCLNT folder and run it to install Proxy Client.

Once Proxy Client has been installed on each workstation, it can be configured via its Control Panel applet called WSP Client. Config is very easy. Just make sure the proxy server’s name (\\computername) or IP address is reflected correctly, and that the correct protocol is checked off.
Or, you can set up Proxy Server to automatically configure the client–before running the Proxy Client setup on each workstation of course.

Yep! You have to install the Proxy Client.

You can go to the share on the server and run “SETUP” or using your Browser, go to http://proxyservername/MSProxy/ and run it from that window.
