How can I download a genuine Windows network adapter driver?

By Wesuta ·
I downloaded this driver - Realtek RTL8150 USB 10/100 Fast Ethernet Adapter 2008-04-11 (Windows) from http://downloads.zdnet.com/thankyou.aspx?regSrc=dwld&tag=col1%3BsubmitButton&promo=110000&docid=615019&view=615019 but during installation I was warned that it could disorganise my system since it was not Windows XP supported. How can I get the version that raelly has a windows logo?

Not sure how to answer this for you

Other than saying that you need a Driver for the Hardware in this case a Realtech NIC Adapter and your OS. If you have Windows Vista and attempt to install a XP Driver you will get the message that you got.

So you need to visit Realtech Web Site and download the Ethernet Driver for this Card and your OS. Remember that XP and XP 64 Bit as well as Vista and Vista 64 as well as Windows 7 and Windows 7 64 Bit all use different drivers so you'll need to specify which version of what OS you have installed. You Can Not use a 64 Bit Driver on a 32 Bit Operating System or most times a 32 Bit Driver on a 64 Bit OS.

The Realtech Network Chip Set downloads are available here directly from Realtech

http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/downloadsView.aspx?Langid=1&PNid=10&PFid=14&Level=4&Conn=3

Of course if you know who made the Ethernet Card or it is part of the M'Board you can visit the actual Card/M'Board Makers Web Site and download from them. Realtech makes the Chips and not the actual complete Plug In Cards.
