How do I copy/convert excel comments into cells in the same workbook?

By landscience ·
I've used the VBScript file to copy all the comments to a word doc, but I can't find a good way to import them from the doc back into corresponding cells in the workbook the comments came from. Is there a way to copy all the comments into an empty column in the workbook so they stay associated with the row they were originally in?
Thanks,
Matt

A co-worker of mine wrote this Macro to do the job. You have to manually select the range of cells you want it to operate on.

Sub Macro1()
'
' Macro1 Macro
' Macro recorded 12/7/2006
'

'
For i = 1 to 200 'range of rows to take comments from
on error resume next
If Cells(i, 1).Comment.Text <> "" Then
comment_text = Cells(i, 1).Comment.Text
Cells(i, 5) = comment_text
Cells(i, 1).Comment.Delete
End If
next i
End Sub
