How do I edit a GIF file

By TABComputers2002 ·
I'm working on an Intranet page, and I need to edit a GIF. Does anyone know of a free program that I can use? No one can remember how the GIF was originally created.

Thanks
Tim

It depends on what you want to do with it. I recommend going to http://www.download.com and search for gif editors. You can filter your searches by changing the liscense type to Free, or free to Try.

I use paint shop pro to edit all my graphics. I am not a graphic designer but I have found this product very usful for editing all types of image formats. You can download a full trail version for 30 days i think of their newest version 10.
