How do I enable S.M.A.R.T. function in Hard Disk?

By sulabh08 ·
I want to enable S.M.A.R.T. function in my hard disk. My hard disk supports S.M.A.R.T. function but in the boot screen it shows S.M.A.R.T.- Disabled. Can anyone give me some help and tell me how to enable S.M.A.R.T. function in my hard drive.

Enabling Self-Monitoring Analysis and Reporting Technology or S.M.A.R.T.

You enable S.M.A.R.T. when you configure your BIOS. If you press the F2 key (in most PCs) it will take you to the SET up menu. Hit the Advanced Tab and the scroll down to EIDE configuration Under EIDE configuration scroll down to Primary Hard Disk and press Enter. You will see S.M.A.R.T. choices there (that is, if your drive supports it) click on it and ebale it. That's it! Hie ESC and the F10 key and you are done!
