https://www.lifewire.com/how-long-does-a-laptop-battery-last-5186206 gives nice information.
A quite effective way is to use it only if necessary. When on the desk, always use the power adapter.

The fully discharge advice is for NiCAD and NiMH batteries which haven’t been seen for decades in laptops.
Please update your knowledge base.
There is a reason to do a full discharge but battery life span is not one of them.

Long ago when battery management was terrible you would do that. Today we have had laptops plugged in for 5 years and find the battery loss is one to a few percent.
To keep the battery for a long time, it’s easy. Use the laptop on mains power except when you can’t.

If you charge up to 90% or less and don’t connect the charger until your battery goes to a minimum of 15 %, your battery will be in good health. Furthermore, you can read more about good battery health by visiting this site.

Keeping your laptop’s battery in good health is an important aspect of maintaining the overall performance and longevity of your device. Here are a few tips that can help you keep your laptop’s battery in good condition:
Avoid overcharging: Overcharging can cause the battery to overheat, which can lead to reduced battery life. Make sure you unplug your laptop once it is fully charged.
Keep your laptop cool: Excessive heat can damage the battery, so it’s important to keep your laptop cool. Make sure you use your laptop on a flat surface and avoid blocking the vents.
Use the right charger: Always use the charger that came with your laptop. Using an incompatible charger can damage the battery and other components of your device.
Don’t let the battery drain completely: Try to avoid letting your laptop’s battery drain completely before recharging it. This can cause the battery to degrade faster over time.
Adjust your power settings: Adjusting your power settings can help you extend your battery life. You can reduce the screen brightness, turn off Wi-Fi and Bluetooth when not in use, and adjust the sleep settings to conserve power.
By following these tips, you can help keep your laptop’s battery in good health and ensure that your device performs optimally for years to come.
