How do I unlock my hacked laptop?

My HP laptop running Windows 10 randomly locked up.

I type in my pin and it says “Your credentials could not be verified”.

Trying to change my pin says “Something went wrong and your pin isnt available (status 0xc000006d, substatus;0x0”

I try with my password and it says its wrong, even though I just changed it 30 seconds earlier.

I then hold shift and hit restart. I click on ‘startup repair’ and click on my username. I then have this UNKNOWN Russian email show up prompting me for a password.

I somehow enter the right password and it says ‘startup repair couldn’t repair your PC’

I put my harddrive in another computer and it does the exact same thing meaning its a harddrive issue.

How do I get back into my laptop? Wiping the hardrive is NOT an option, as the files are more important than the computer itself.

Sadly, you may have to go the nuclear option and reformat and reinstall everything on your laptop. Once scammers get hacked into your computer, it can be difficult to clean up their mess. There is a reason why it is nicknamed “ransomware” to restore your system, and there is no guarantee that they will remove all traces of their intrusion or hit you up for more $$ in the future.

As other moderators frequently mention, hopefully you back up your computer frequently or you will have to start from scratch.

There are no simple solutions once it happens to your computer.

So you put the hard disk in another PC to copy all your files to a very safe place (another disk) before deleting everything on this drive (which means: delete all partitions).
Or you keep this hard disk as backup while installing Windows on a new disk or using a new PC.

You appear to need this to go to a data recovery company. There is no safe way for NEW users to do their own data recovery. Never has been.
