How do I...Omit empty fields from my access report?

By paulpiv ·
Hello, I hope someone can help me with this issue I am having with Access. I have a table with various data fields. Some of the fields do not have information in them so they are blank. When I generate a report with the Report Wizard, I want to include the field ONLY IF THERE IS INFORMATION in them, and OMIT THE FIELDS IF EMPTY. I also want to adjust the formatting so that if the field is empty, the height of the space for the variable field (which is directly under a field that is always present) is reduced.

Any ideas people? Thanks a lot.

Could try this..

In your query, try putting "Is Not Null" in the criteria portion of the field
you don't want to show if the field is empty.

Hi Peconet, thanks for your response. Is there any way to do the same thing using the "reports" function? The reason is, I want to have a uniform format for the report, and I want to pre-define all the parameters I want to be included in the report so it is simple for the person creating the report.
