How do YOU use remote administration?

What’s YOUR favorite remote admin tool?
How much does it cost?
How many machines do YOU manage this way?
How did you deploy it?
Why do you think that it’s better than the others?
Do you use it for contract work?
Does it report log in times so that you can bill the end user for your time?

Someone said that I should replace my favorite; NetMeeting with something more secure.

Here’s why I use it. My customers pay me through PayPal or a similar service; I recieve an email with their request and payment for my time, or as a retainer. I reply with an email message with my availability and they choose the best time to work together on their current issue. I am able to talk with them and train them as I go, if that’s what they want.

I can hold training meetings for a whole sales department or just one person who needs some extra help.

I can chat, voice, video and whiteboard and share specific applications with or without interaction from the gallery.

I limit all of these customers to broadband because, well, I’m just like that. It’s easier for me and they seem to understand my needs too.

Oh yeah, and its free and included in every MS OS since Win 9x.
