How to auto fill-in in Access Form?

By jpadilla ·
My form has two fields:

Codes: MTN, PRO, OTH, SET, and Raw, etc...

MaintDTCode: any number from 1-999.

My problem is I want to associate (link) the Code
automatically when the corresponding MainDTCode is entered in the form field (e.g. 78=RAW).
Is this accomplished via a table or initial setup of form? If not, how?

How does the MainDTCode associate with Code? Is it a 1 to 1 assocaite (i.e. 78 ALWAYS = RAW) or range (i.e. RAW = 1-100, PRO = 101-200, etc.)?

Codes & MainDTCode in adjoining fields in same table. No association yet.

Because there are many more MainDTCode entries than Codes, I have setup table from 1-999 and manually entered the corresponding Code (i.e. 78=RAW, 25=OTH, etc...) but there is no association yet.

As I understand the situation, you now have a table with the three-letter Codes, and their corresponding numeric MaintDTCode. If this is the case, then all you need is a listbox that uses this table as a data source, set to display both fields.

The "Form" has 6 fields, all but one of which have data input via ten-key pad. Is it possible to have the "Codes" field auto fill when the corresponding "MainDTCode" is entered without using a List Box?
