How to automatically position side by side windows on one monitor?

By andy.klee ·
Hi, I'd like to try working in side by side windows on XP, usually using Microsoft Windows applications such as Word, Excel, Outlook. When I open two programs, I have to reposition the windows manually which takes time...is there a way to have Windows "remember" that I want the first two applications I open to open up side by side, each taking up half the horizontal space?

Open each application, minimize both, hold down the control key (Ctrl) and left click each one. Now that they are highlighted, release the control key and right-click either application, choose tile horizontally or vertically (whichever you prefer).
