How to call windows application(.exe) in mozilla using javascript.

By tpramarao ·
It's working fine in Intenet explorer but it is not working in Mozilla firefox.If anybody knows this solution, Please help me.

<script language="javascript" type="text/javascript">
function runApp(tel)
{
var shell = new ActiveXObject("WScript.shell");
shell.run("C:\call.exe "+tel, 1);
}
</script>

Now I need to do the same from out Firefox 2.0 ( Call call.exe file from javascript )
How do I get it done.

Wouldn't work in IE on my machine

I mean that would be a gaping security hole, wouldn't it?

Which probably answers your question, choosing Firefox is to stop nefarious people getting this sort of facility.
Not suggesting you are a bad guy, but if I set up so your stuff would work, I might as well just give my PC to the first crook that happens to notice it.
