Take a look here for help:

(delete any spaces in the URL)

Good luck!

Here is a tid bit from my own personal Samba documentation. This is assuming you've already installed the latest Red Hat RPM from http://www.redhat.com/download/samba.html. It sounds as if you'd be most interested in the last item on this list.- If using SWAT, be sure to modify the /etc/xinetd.d/swat file so that the ?disable? option is set to ?no? instead of the default ?yes?.
- Make sure the path to the smbpasswd file is correct in the smb.conf file.
- Make sure the path to the passwdprogram is correct (usually /usr/bin/passwd) for Red Hat 7.x.
- If using USER level security, make sure the smbpasswd file has users entered in it. If it doesn?t, run the smbadduser command to add users.
- If using DOMAIN level security, you?ll need to join an NT domain. To do so, log in as root, then type smbpasswd -j Domain_Name -U NT_Account -r PDC. Domain_Name is the NT domain name, NT_Account is the name of an NT account that has permission to add workstations to the domain, typicallyAdministrator, and PDC is the name of the NT primary domain controller.

Hi: If you would consider using a graphical front end to simplify your tasks, and are using KDE as your desktop, try linking onto this site:

http://us1.samba.org/samba/GUI/

and check out the tools and documentation there. SWAT is okay, and Webmin can do wonders as well, but if you like GUI front ends for your tools, try this site and see what you think. Good Luck!
