I don't know if this is what you're after, but have tried the Pallette and Picture properties of the forms? This allow you to set backgrounds etc for the form.

You can create skins or have your forms in different shapes, sizes and colors [ex Windows media player 7.0] in VB6.0. for extensive documentation refer latest msdn. Or check www.VBcode.com for sample code. i have done something like that using the API's which i have listed below.

SetWindowRgn
CreateEllipticRgn
CreateRectRgn
CreateRoundRectRgn
PaintRgn
FillRgn
