How to disable a user in Notes/Domino R6

I want to find a good procedure to disable users from Lotus Notes/Domino.

Currently users are deleted and all is lost, however in future I’d like ‘departing’ users to be disabled(just in case they return, which we hope they do), but still have them removed from their groups without it being a manual process (going through each group).
