How to disable shares on WinXP pro

by darcon3k . Updated 23 years, 5 months ago

I want to disable shares such as ADMIN$ and C$
I found this on MS site
“To disable a share on a computer running Windows XP or Windows 2000

Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
Double-click Administrative Tools, and then double-click Computer Management.
Right-click the share to disable the share or change the share permissions. ”

But if I right-click on the shares I get a menu with only refresh and help. I can’t figure out how to disable these shares.
