Go to Tools>Macro>Record New Macro. Give the macro a recognizable name. Open up the target template (File>New). Stop the Macro recorder.
Now Right click a Toolbar and select Customize. On the commands tab you'll find an entry for Macros in the leftpane. In the right hand pane, locate the macro you just recorded. Drag it up to a Toolbar.

You may know this alredy so ...

Still kind of 'have to look them up' but it's much easier. We put all of our templates as .DOT files in a specicic directory (on a share drive). Map the user's templates to that. When you File, New, they all show up there. Works pretty good, would be nice to have some sub-folders (template types?), but it's not too bad even for 100+ files with a scroll bar.

Big benefit(s): a common point for all users, can be protected against change, etc.
