Hello I was just wondering if it is possible to use windows Whistler (the prototype version of windows xp) as a main os without useing a virtual machine the one that looks like windows 2000 but had the identical set up screen from windows xp and identical star tab from xp. If you know if you can make a bootable cd or floppy or usb to make this as a main os on a computer please tell me thanks

Hi there! Follow these steps:-
1. Shut down the guest machine and go to you’re host machine.
2. Go to this website for the VMWare driver package: VMware driver package. Scroll down and to where you see the VMWare Driver Package versions. Download the 7.0 version for the latest drivers on Whistler. It comes in a zip file called “hounsell.zip”
3. Go to Settings and then choose CDROM on whether version of the VMWare Driver Package you use. (make sure to extract hounsell.zip before this step)
4. Go to the VM settings, Click CDROM (IDE), locate the iso file and then click open.
5. Startup the guest machine, then click Run, then type devmgmt.msc, Press Enter, then locate the drivers that you need to install and update all of the missing drivers. You will see a working saying that the drivers are not compatible with Whistler but ignore the message as nothing was ever compatible with Whistler and the drivers will be downloaded. Once after that, all the drivers will be installed so reboot the guest machine and Enjoy your precious Windows Whistler with all the drivers installed.
Hope this helps:-
