One of the most irritating aspects of purchasing a new computer or laptop would be that it generally comes with a slew of worthless software or accessories pre-installed by the manufacturer. Even huge brands like HP, Dell, Lenovo, and Asus do it, and while some of the features they add aren’t significant, others have been.

Just be careful that you don’t delete files that are needed by the OS. Cell phones are no different when it comes to “bloatware”.

There will always be some unused applications and just delete what you know that you don’t want/need.

On a technical level, Windows 10/11 supports two types of installed software. First, there are the normal apps. These basically work by someone running the setup file and the app installs, typically under C:\program files\<appname>\ and/or C:\program files (x86)\<appname>\

Uninstalling these apps, whether they came pre-installed with your system or you installed them yourself is the same basic process: You need to go to the Windows Apps & Features tool, locate the apps from there an uninstall them.

What this does is that Windows will simply call the registered uninstaller module of each app and it is up to each app to remove themselves from your system.

Typically this must be done one app at a time, unless you use some software uninstaller product that support batch uninstallation of apps. You can find such with Google.

The second type of apps are so called APPX apps. These are basically a new format of software distribution that Microsoft is trying to popularize and many builtin Windows 10/11 apps are of this APPX type.

These are sometimes present in the Windows Apps & Features listing but they may not have any uninstaller module registered, and hence the Apps & Features panel will have its Uninstall button disabled.

To uninstall these types of apps, you can use the Windows PowerShell. It can be a bit intimidating to do, but in short, running PowerShell command “Get-AppxPackage” will list all of the installed APPX apps. After you have identified which APPX apps you wish to remove, you can remove them with the “Remove-AppxPackage” command.

Of course, you need to know what you are doing, as removing something that is required by Windows might kill your Windows installation. Typically, though, you ought to be able to recover using a System Recovery Point, that you should do first before starting any mass uninstall project.

What you can do is try some software like CCleaner is one of the most trusted software that keeps your PC clean and optimized while not interfering with essential system elements.

With CCleaner, managing apps feel like breeze. It lists all your installed software in one comprehensive list, allowing you to order them and also search for them by name.

You can find the uninstaller feature of CCleaner by clicking the Tool submenu. You’ll see that the app list includes the software pre-installed by Windows on your PC.

There is literally nothing that CCleaner does in the context of uninstalling apps that you cannot do by yourself with using the builtin Windows features.

For example, when you go to CCleaner to uninstall an app, all it does is calls the uninstaller executable of that application. Which is exactly what Windows Apps & Features does when you use that to uninstall an app.
