    How to run a program as a service

    I thought there was an easy command line paramerter to run a program as a service, but I sure can’t remember it. I want to do this for the sole purpose of getting that thing out of my taskbar. Thanks for any help or suggestions.

      The only way that I have to run programs as services is to use the Resource Kit. The executable is Instsrv there is also a GUI version maybe InstrvW or Winstrv.

      Once installed you can use the command line to start and stop the service / program.

      You can only make com’s and exe’s into a service. Sorry,no Batch files.
