Hi
My company currently uses Pegasus mail as our email client. However, it has been set-up so that all mail is recieved in one account which is then forwarded to ‘child’ accounts (each person’s email account). This means that a copy of every message received stays in the initial (main) account. The email server is located on a machine (W95, 16MB! RAM, 2GB HDD), that is also used for everyday tasks. Consequently, the machine contains 1000’s of email messages (despite my sending instructionsto every user on how save them to a file in their ‘personal’ folder on the File Server, and then deleting them), which is significantly impacting on the performance of the machine.
Can anyone give me the address or other reference to a site that explains the basics of setting up a dedicated email server – I would like to do this on a W95 machine which would be used only for this purpose. I would like to access material on all aspects – managing, security etc. I understand, from serching the web, that the actual process is quite simple, but have been unable to find anything on the principles of this process.
Thanks.
