Despite installing Mailwasher Pro a month ago I have continued to get approx. 30 spam emails per day. Yesterday I cancelled ALL my Techrepublic newsletters, and guess what, this morning I have only 1 (yes 1) spam in my mailbox. I wonder why?

Interesting... I've subscribed to TechRepublic for years...

...and have never had a spam problem on any of the addresses I've used for the subscriptions.

There was another discussion questioning a link between TR membership and SPAM.

TR has seen a problem with info crawlers grabbing user names that are email addresses.

TR recommends that you change your user name to something other than a valid email address.

I get around 100 emails a day.
On average, less than 10 are SPAM.

I don't use any spam blockers or message rules.

I do guard my email address.

If I have any doubt about a site that requests my email address, I use a web based email account that I specifically use for screening spam.

On occasion, my "SPAM" account does get 20 or 30 SPAM messages on a single day.
